1,800 miles South: Images from Vancouver to Mexico
For 90 days I cycled down the West Coast of North America, sometimes alone, often with other riders I met on the way, but mostly with Amanda, a friend living in Canada. Three months earlier she'd sent me a message on Facebook saying she was going to ride to Mexico. It wasn't an invitation, but I invited myself anyway. I like to cycle, 11 mph (our average speed over 30 days of actual riding) seems to hit the sweet spot. Faster and you begin to miss things, slower and the journey can become almost terminally dull.
The following nine photographs are a linear progression down the entire length of the journey, from start to finish. Each is accompanied by an illustration of an uncaptured detail.
